It has been a week since Chris Paul left the Los Angeles Clippers after team President Lawrence Frank flew into Atlanta to send the veteran point guard home before their game against the Hawks.

Then, moments before the game, Ty Lue seemingly painted his former player as a ‘misfit’, which then started to generate theories about their relationship.

A viral practice video, where it looked like the head coach cursed Paul, and other claims from former Clippers players painted Lue as the villain in this entire fiasco.

That ain’t true. We were talking. How he gonna play, and I’m not talking to him? There was a stretch when he wasn’t gonna play and be out of the rotation, it was tough for him because he’s a competitor.

Ty Lue said

This was the 48-year-old’s response to reporter Joey Linn‘s question about whether those reports of a Cold War between him and Chris Paul were true.

The 2016 NBA championship-winning coach reiterated that he had nothing to do with Chris Paul being asked to leave, as his relationship did not deteriorate to that point.

When pressed if the organization’s relationship with their veteran point guard had become past the point of reconciliation, Lue asked the reporters to quiz Lawrence Frank, as he was the one to send Paul home at 3 AM.

The 2-time NBA champion player’s demeanor suggested those rumors were indeed baseless. However, when asked if he had contacted his former player, Ty Lue stated that Paul has not connected with him either.

Reporter claims Clippers are working with Chris Paul to find him a team

As Chris Paul has been released, he cannot sign with another team until the waiver wire kicks in next month. Until then, it seems his former team is helping him find a place of work.

I’ve also been told — in strong terms — that the Clippers do want to work in tandem with Paul and his CAA representation to find him a new home.

Jake Fischer reported

The insider believes that the 40-year-old wants to keep playing until the end of the season. To help facilitate that, the Clippers are working with his representatives to find a team that would trade for him.

That way, he can hop onto his next franchise and start playing immediately. It seems the sentiment of Paul being a franchise legend kicked in after they let him go.

After their own fans and former players, along with many members of the media, criticized the team, they are trying to find a solution that can bring them back into the league’s good books.

Chris Paul at peace despite Clippers’ release

Chris Paul signed with the Los Angeles Clippers so that he could complete his NBA journey in front of his family, and with the team that gave him the most joy in his career.

That changed when they decided his criticisms were becoming too much for them to handle. When People Magazine caught up with the Wake Forest alum, they asked him about his mindset as he looks towards his next job.

I’m actually at peace with everything.

Chris Paul replied

He knows he is currently facing an unknown situation, but is happy that he is back home with his family. Until he finds another job, he is trying to be at peace amidst the drama surrounding his release.
