Tyler Bate made his main roster debut after spending several years in NXT. He was immediately paired with Pete Dunne, and the two put on hard-hitting matches against the likes of The Judgment Day at Elimination Chamber. Later in the show, WWE aired a video package for The Final Testament. In the footage, Karrion Kross boasted about his attack on Kofi Kingston following his loss to Xavier Woods. Michael Cole also announced that the former WWE Champion was suffering from an AC joint sprain in his shoulder. This could cause him to be out of action for a number of weeks.

Kofi Kingston wrestled Kross on the June 24th episode of Raw, where he allegedly suffered this injury. This leaves Xavier Woods to his own devices in The New Day’s battle against The Final Testament.
