The Heat prevailed in this close matchup that ended 117-120. However, it was the Heat’s Tyler Herro who stole the headlines for his recent remarks regarding Spurs star Victor Wembanyama.
Despite the Spurs losing, Herro was taken away with Wembanyama’s ‘reach ‘ in the game. The Spurs youngster had seven rebounds in 17 minutes of play. Wembanyama had a poor game according to his standards, scoring just eight points in his side’s defeat to the Heat. However, Herro made sure to give Wembanyama his flowers after the match.
Herro didn’t miss the chance to compliment Wembanyama, making a humorous comment that drew laughter from reporters. In the post-game presser, Herro said:

The Spurs had a poor showing against the Heat, giving away 21 turnovers in the game. However, their stars got in important minutes ahead of the new season.
With a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds, Jeremy Sochan led the points tally. Chris Paul scored 13 points and dished out five assists, while Malaki Branham and Keldon Johnson each scored 15 points. It will take a lot more than scoring for the Spurs if they were to challenge for the NBA title going into the 2024-25 NBA season.

Tuesday night marked the San Antonio Spurs’ first away preseason game against the Miami Heat, and it ended with the Heat securing their second preseason victory. The atmosphere at the Kaseya Center was electric as the Heat’s key players posted impressive numbers in their 120-117 win over the Spurs.
Bam Adebayo led all scorers with 20 points, adding three rebounds, three steals, two blocks, and two assists. Jimmy Butler also contributed 12 points, along with four rebounds and three steals, while Tyler Herro added 14 points and four assists.

In addition to his seven points, Nikola Jovic pulled down three rebounds and three steals. Terry Rozier III finished with five assists, five rebounds, and five points. Not only that, but he also blocked two shots which garnered huge praise from the Miami supporters.
Overall, this win against the Spurs was a proper team effort. The Heat players as well as the fans will be beaming with confidence going into the 2024-25 NBA season.
