Following their heartbreaking 124-87 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 3, the Miami Heat’s hopes of making a deep NBA playoffs run are more or less dashed away. After losing both games in Cleveland, the Heat went into their first postseason match at Kaseya Center trailing 2-0. However, Game 3 was no different, particularly leaving Heat star Tyler Herro devastated.

After Game 3, Tyler Herro delivered a bold message to Heat fans. Despite Miami’s struggles in the series, Herro vowed to “stay” and fight through the playoffs. With the Cavaliers gaining momentum, Herro and the Heat are determined to rise to the challenge in the next game.

We intend to be here. It’s not time to let go of the ropes. We’re playing to the final buzzer… We’re not going out 0-4.

Tyler Herro said in the post-game presser

It’s important to note that the Heat are without one of their best playoff players for the past years in Jimmy Butler. They traded Butler to the Golden State Warriors in February after immense drama behind the scenes. So, going into this series, the Heat were noticeably shorthanded in attack, with only Herro and his teammate Bam Adebayo producing for their side.

Herro finished with 13 points on 5 of 13 shots and 1 of 3 from beyond the arc on Friday, which was disappointing. In the defeat, Adebayo gave it his all for the Heat, scoring 22 points and pulling down nine rebounds. However, the Cavs’ combined firepower was too strong for the Heat to match, as six Cavaliers scored in double figures throughout the rout.

Miami Heat star chimes back at Darius Garland ‘pick on Tyler Herro’ jab

Darius Garland was questioned about the Cavaliers’ strategy against the Heat after their 121–112 victory over Miami in Game 2. He responded by making fun of Tyler Herro and claiming that their strategy was to “pick on Tyler Herro.” The Heat star man took exception to the remark. He criticized Garland over his own defensive flaws when questioned about it.

Somebody who doesn’t play defense shouldn’t be talking… He don’t play any defense.

Despite Herro’s comments, Garland and his side had the last laugh on the Heat at the Kaseya Center on Friday. The Cavs are now 3-0 in this series and will be looking to close it out as soon as possible, avoiding any unwanted comeback from the Heat.

Bam Adebayo comes in support of teammate Tyler Herro

Going against one Heat player means going against them all. This was the message let out by Heat star Bam Adebayo after Darius Garland’s recent jab towards Tyler Herro. Adebayo is not someone who would sit back and let things slide. He chose to put forward his views on this situation regarding his teammate and Cavs star.

Yeah, because you can’t hide and that’s what I love about the Playoffs. So, you know, obviously. He said what he said, you know, we all take that personal, not only just Tyler, we all take it personal.

Bam Adebayo said

Throughout his career, Herro has been singled out on defense. He averaged 27 points throughout both of the opening games of the series and was named an All-Star for the first time this season. The team’s top player was traded in the middle of the season. Therefore, Herro and Adebayo have been mostly responsible both on and off the court.
