Tua Tagovailoa has lost weight in his efforts to improve his movement inside the pocket on the gridiron. After bulking up earlier in his career, it seems the Miami Dolphins quarterback has chosen to slim down.

Teammate Tyreek Hill admitted to being blown away by his quarterback’s dedication to make adjustments to his body. While speaking with reporters at the Miami Dolphins practice facility, the All-Pro wideout had a wholesome reaction.

I ain't going to lie, when I seen Tua at the Pro Bowl I was kinda scared. Dude was fat as sh*t. He was fat, he was chubby, hold on now. Ryan Clark said you were kinda thick, now he wasn't lying. Seeing him now, and where he's come from, and how skinny he has gotten. He had to be taking [Ozempic] that.

Hill was happy for Tua Tagovailoa as he could avoid criticism for his physique and concentrate on his play. To be able to play better, the former Alabama star might need to move around in the pocket more.

By losing weight Tagovailoa can help himself in that regard. It will also help him avoid leg injuries, which could sideline him as the season goes on. If he can improve his movement in the pocket, he can also keep the offense running instead of having to throw the ball out of play.

Hill also mentioned that his quarterback has taken steps to improve camaraderie with the offense in a bid to get better on the field. That chemistry will be vital when the playoffs arrive as last year turned out to be a major disappointment for the team after a promising start.

Tua Tagovailoa focused on taking Miami Dolphins to the Super Bowl

Tua Tagovailoa has all good things going into the coming season. Along with Hill and Jaylen Waddle, the Dolphins signed Odell Beckham Jr., making them a force to be reckoned with. He can exploit their ability to separate at all levels of the field. With his newfound scrambling ability, he can extend plays in case one breaks down. Something which will be crucial against the best defenses they will likely meet in the playoffs.

The Miami Dolphins lost a few core pieces of their defense but managed to turn things around and sign crucial free agents in a bid to get better. Overall, the team looks poised to shake off their playoff disappointment and target nothing less than a Super Bowl.

With what Tyreek Hill mentioned about his quarterback gelling with the offense, it could only be better down the road. Chemistry and competitiveness have always been the core of any championship team.
