Tyreek Hill idolized Antonio Brown since his college days, but there are some things that even he will not tolerate from the former NFL wide receiver. Brown was a guest on the This Past Weekend with Theo Von podcast in February, where he criticized Hill for leaving Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs and choosing party culture down at South Beach.
According to the ex-Pittsburgh Steeler, Hill made a mistake by leaving the Chiefs when they were at the height of their power. He won a Super Bowl and then decided to take the bag and move on.
It’s a bad decision [to leave a good QB for money]… You just better ask Tyreek [Hill]. Cheetah should have stayed with Patrick Mahomes going to the Super Bowls. It’s not nice in Miami. You come to Miami after your career for vacation. You don’t want to be there with the party scene and BBLs. It’s a distraction, man. You need to play in Kansas City. It’s cold and you can focus on football and you gonna win.

Tyreek Hill replied back to Antonio Brown’s criticism
It’s very hard to make out what goes on in Antonio Brown’s mind. At one point, he was considered one of the best receivers of his generation, and the next, he was seen ditching his team by disappearing into the abyss. Since then, many have speculated CTE as a cause for his sudden mood swings.

However, his comments about Hill leaving the Chiefs to sign with the Dolphins connected with his audience. Hill’s stats skyrocketed during his first two years in Miami, crossing 1700 yards on both occasions. Yet, he never played playoff football past the wild card round.
The 5x All Pro’s decision to leave Kansas City began to seem like a mistake as the Chiefs won multiple Super Bowls without him. Despite the results, Tyreek refused to accept defeat and called out Brown for his statement.
I think I’ll not take his advice he [Antonio Brown is] still the goat though.

2024 was an even bigger disaster. The Dolphins didn’t qualify for the playoffs, and Hill failed to cross 1000 receiving yards. He lost it on the final day of the season and threw a tantrum. Hill reportedly wanted to be traded from the Dolphins.
Rumors began to circulate that Hill wanted to reunite with Mahomes in Kansas City. FS1’s Nick Wright linked the two parties together in a blockbuster offseason move, but when Hill finally cooled down, he apologized to the Dolphins fans, stating that he was staying in Miami because his family loves the community.
Since then, the talks of Hill leaving the Dolphins have died down, and it appears he will play for the Miami franchise in 2025. In August 2025, Hill restructured his contract that will make him $90 million over three years.
