Tyreek Hill has no qualms in saying he's the best player in the league, even ahead of former teammate Patrick Mahomes.

Miami Dolphins Tyreek Hill and Kansas City Chiefs Patrick Mahomes are two of the best players in football. The recent NFL Network’s Top 100 Players list painted a clear picture with a few surprises.

While Hill came in #1, Mahomes finished 4th, which created a ruckus throughout the NFL fandom. The veteran wide receiver’s numbers in the 2023 season definitely made a case for him. He had 119 receptions for a career-best 1799 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns.

During a recent interview with Kay Adams for Up & Adams, the Super Bowl winner stomped his claim as the #1 player in the NFL.

Yeah… for sure. I am him. I am him for sure… My argument is that; you gotta understand, like you gotta look at it like this. Pat [Patrick Mahomes] is great. He is great obviously for his team. They won two back-to-back Super Bowls… They did their thing.

Hill then presented his side of the things.

Now look at me: two back-to-back 1700 [receiving yards], pro bowl, all pro; this and that, all decade. The consistency, all that man. And I am doing this at 5’8” or 5’7”?A lot of people said I couldn’t be a receiver, and here I am doing this. I am giving all the short kings out there hope. All the short kings in the world hope.

Tyreek Hill took a dig at the Chiefs fans for being salty about Patrick Mahomes not being the #1 player

The Dolphins looked well on their way to finishing at the top of the AFC until they collapsed during the business end of the season, ending the regular season with an 11-7 record. Then a crushing defeat in the Kansas City snow cut short any hopes for a deep playoff run.

However, Hill’s personal underlying numbers in the regular season were enough for him to win the #1 player accolade. The 8-time Pro Bowler was already on bad terms with the Chiefs fans for leaving them in 2022, and after the recent announcement, they doubled down on him. Hill doesn’t mind.

I ain't want to rain on his [Patrick Mahomes] parade… because I already know what's going on. [The Kansas City] Chiefs fans already hate me or whatever, because I won number one... So y'all can go cry and rain on somebody else's parade because I'mma be Cheetah [the best player in football], and I'm number one in the NFL, and there's nothing you can do about it.

Patrick Mahomes struggled without a top wideout in the Chiefs team. For the first time since 2019, the 28-year-old failed to cross 4200 passing yards. He finished with 4183 yards from 401 completions, 27 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions.

Mahomes finally came alive in the postseason, racking up career-best numbers with 104 completions for 1051 yards and 6 touchdowns. He was voted the Super Bowl MVP.
