“Not even better than Justin Jefferson” – Tyreek Hill named No. 1 in NFL Network’s Top 100 players list over Patrick Mahomes sparks wild reactions on social media

Social media has been in an uproar ever since the NFL Network announced Tyreek Hill as the No. 1 player ahead of NFL MVP Lamar Jackson and Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes. Most claimed Hill is not even the best wide receiver in the NFL, let alone the best player.
Fans were eagerly waiting for NFL Network to announce the Top 10 players of the league in 2023. They had already revealed the other 90, which had a surprise inclusion of Aaron Rodgers as well.
However, on Friday, the football fraternity was shocked when they saw the Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill at the #1, above Mahomes, Jackson, and 2023 Offensive Player of the Year recipient Christian McCaffery.

Social media reaction to Tyreek Hill as the No. 1 player in the NFL
The selection made Hill the first wide receiver to ever receive the honor of the best player. Incidentally, he is also the first Miami Dolphins player to finish at #1 and the first non-quarterback since Aaron Donald in 2019 to finish at #1.
Hill was unable to accomplish his 2000 regular-season receiving yards target milestone but still lodged an incredible 119 catches for 1799 yards and 13 touchdowns. Despite the numbers, fans refused to count him as the best player when the league has Patrick Mahomes.
Not only is Mahomes the best player in the league Tyreek isn’t even the best WR

It’s impossible for every football fan to be on the same page regardless of who finished #1. So, Hill did not bat an eye to the online chatter and dropped a simple gratitude toward the almighty.

Being the #1 player aside, Hill is on his contract year and reportedly seeking an extension. He saw the Vikings wideout Justin Jefferson becoming the highest paid with $35 million annually who ranked 18th in the NFL Network’s list.
Hill presently earns $30 million a year (an average) and wants to earn the same or more than Jefferson. The Dolphins should increase his salary, but will they be able to after extending Tua Tagovailoa’s? Only time will tell.
