Tyreek Hill and Noah Lyles are inseparable. The Super Bowl winner and the Olympic champion sprinter became sworn adversaries, trying to smack talk each other about who is faster between them every chance they get.

Lyles was in Boston for the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix to defend his 60-meter crown. He finished first in the heat, setting up a tough race for the finals.

The 27-year-old got off to a good start and maintained his slight lead until the end. Lyles finished the race in 6:51 SB. Moments after crossing the finish line, Lyles brought out a handwritten poster and held it in front of his face.

The “Tyreek Could Never” phrase splashed onto the NBC screen, taunting the Miami Dolphins wideout. He did not stop there.

When you’re ready to put some words down and actually race, see me. I am right here; I ain’t going nowhere. But all I know, your football season is over. You ain’t got no excuse now.

When a reporter asked him about the poster, Noah Lyles replied

Lyles defeated Terrence Jones, PJ Austin, Marcell Jacobs, and Trayvon Bromell.

It’s unclear about Hill’s whereabouts, but as Lyles mentioned, his football season ended, so he had ample time on his hands to dive into other activities. Hill’s favorite pastime is streaming Fortnite, but at the same time, he kept one eye on social media and noticed Lyles taunting him on camera.

Hill replied back with a short message.

Tyreek Hill-Noah Lyles beef explained

Tyreek Hill and Noah Lyles don’t have much in common besides their love for running. Hill may be a star football player for the Dolphins, but he also holds the title of the fastest athlete in the NFL. He always has the urge to race the fastest human being in the world, and after Lyles won the 100-meter dash in the Paris Olympics, Hill fixated on the man from Virginia.

The 30-year-old challenged Lyles for the sprint, and despite being uninterested at the beginning, Lyles accepted Hill’s invitation.

We can race. If he’s serious about it, if he is truly serious about it and not just talking on the internet and you ain’t actually coming to me and talking to my agent to set something up… if you’re serious about it, you’ll see me on the track.

The NFL is surprisingly sleeping on the matter. An event during the Pro Bowl would make it an event to remember for many. If they market the rivalry strategically, then perhaps they can draw a massive audience similar to the Luka Doncic-Anthony Davis trade.
