- Jaylen Waddle praised Tyreek Hill's impressive recovery, noting he was squatting just two months post-injury.
- Hill dislocated his left knee and tore multiple ligaments, leading to season-ending surgery.
- Despite his injury and age concerns, Waddle believes Hill will return stronger and prove his doubters wrong.
The camaraderie between Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill remains intact even though they are no longer teammates in Miami. Waddle, who spent four seasons as Hill’s understudy with the Dolphins, shared a jaw-dropping story while appearing on The Set, hosted by retired Miami tackle Terron Armstead.
In week four, Hill dislocated his left knee and suffered multiple torn ligaments, including a torn ACL. Shortly after the harrowing incident, Hill underwent surgery, which ended his season early.
He was such a dog on the field, and to see him go down like that is always hard. Two months out of his injury, he’s squatting, and I said, ‘This boy [is] different‘.

Waddle held down the fort on behalf of Hill as WR1. He finished with 910 yards and 6 touchdowns, but the Dolphins missed the playoffs for the second year in a row due to a 7-10 record.
Earlier this week, Hill had his wish fulfilled after the Dolphins released him, even though he still has one year remaining on his contract, which he restructured in 2024. Now a free agent, NFL teams are expected to queue up to acquire his services. However, that isn’t the case. Aside from a possible reunion with the Chiefs, the only other team linked with the All-Pro wide receiver are the Ravens.
Jaylen Waddle believes that Tyreek Hill will prove his doubters wrong
There are two reasons behind the lack of interest in Hill. The first one is obviously his injury. It might affect his speed, lowering efficiency as a deep ball threat. That said, during a livestream, Hill confirmed that his recovery process is coming along nicely.

My recovery is going good, bro. Like I said earlier in the stream, I got to have one more surgery. It hasn’t been as rough as people try to make it seem, you know what I’m saying, but I’ll say, me filling my time with DJ, and traveling to all these different places, it has been a lot easier for myself. I’m just enjoying my life, I’m enjoying myself.

The second hurdle is his age. He will turn 32 in less than a couple of weeks and enter a period when most receivers start to decline. Waddle, on the other hand, showed complete faith in the Super Bowl winner and his ability to bounce back from adversity.
That boy different. He’s gonna come back CRAZY… You know, Cheetah — he feels like people doubting him now.

That massive casing on his left knee indicates that he still has a long way to go before the doctors give the green light to return to football. At the very least, he can put pressure on the bad leg, as demonstrated by the weighted lunges.
The Chiefs drafted Hill in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. Since then, he has made over 140 appearances in the league, accumulating 1201 receptions, 11,363 receiving yards, 83 touchdowns, 8 Pro Bowls and 5 All Pro nods.
