The basketball world knows Tyrese Haliburton as an ever-smiling star who is having a career resurgence since joining the Indiana Pacers. He is known for his electric change of pace and ability to find teammates as he has led his team to become a solid playoff threat.

This season though they did not have the best of starts as they struggled to continue last season’s form. However, by mid-December, they started to turn the corner. They started a solid 20-8 winning stretch that has vaulted them back into the top 4 in the East.

During that stretch, the Indiana Pacers played the Detroit Pistons twice. Considering how they have managed to turn their season around, the Pistons have become a strong playoff team. In the first of those battles on January 16th, players from both sides engaged in a battle of words.

It brought back memories of the Pacers – Pistons battles of old. Pistons players Tim Hardaway Jr., Jalen Duren and Isaiah Stewart were seen jawing with Haliburton, Pascal Siakam and others. Hardaway’s father, Tim Hardaway Sr. said something earlier while on Gil’s Arena.

This direct reply from the Indiana Pacers star suggests something is not right between the two. Did he say something to Tim Hardaway Jr. that it ticked off his father enough to say something like this while on a show?

Tim Hardaway Sr. has a past with Tyrese Haliburton

Although most of the narratives suggest that those Detroit Pistons games this season prompted Tim Hardaway Sr. to say all that. However, a fan deep dive has an alternate theory. The fan, Oasis, wrote this on Haliburton’s reply post.

For those that don’t know, Tim Hardaway was on the 2000 Miami Heat squad with Tyrese Haliburton’s cousin, Eddie Jones. Eddie Jones invited the wife of Hardaway to his Miami high rise condo and slept with her. This caused serious drama. Hardaway left Miami etc.

That post has garnered more than a million views of its own. It is not known if there is any truth to this. However, Tyrese Haliburton’s cousin Eddie Jones was indeed a part of the 2000 Miami Heat squad. That also happened to be the last season of Tim Hardaway Sr.’s time with that franchise.

With the Indiana Pacers star posting a cryptic message, it is possible the families have some beef between them. However, if it has anything to do with what the fan theory suggests, there is no chance Hardaway Sr. will want to continue this beef.
