The Indiana Pacers took on the New York Knicks at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Tuesday, with the former coming out on top in Game 4 of the ECF Finals. However, the NBA world has been talking only about one player: Tyrese Haliburton. The Pacers’ star has been performing consistently throughout the 2024-25 NBA season.

Now, he has taken his game to a whole new level in the NBA 2024-25 Playoffs. First, he outperformed the #1 seed Cleveland Cavaliers single-handedly during the playoffs. Now, against the Knicks, he is doing the same. Notably, ESPN analyst Jay Williams took notice of his performances against the Knicks. So much so that he let out a bold take about the Pacers’ star on the recent segment of the ‘Get Up’ show.

If you’re not waking up today, Wednesday, May 28th, saying that Tyrese Haliburton is a superstar, don’t talk to me about basketball. Possession by possession, he’s the best manipulator in the game.

Jay Williams said

Haliburton led the team to a 130-121 victory at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Tuesday with 32 points, 15 assists, 12 rebounds, four steals, and no turnovers. Since turnovers were first formally monitored in the NBA playoffs in 1977–78, he was named the first player to achieve that stat line. Also, the Pacers are now one victory away from making their first Finals appearance since 2000 and lead the Eastern Conference Finals 3-1.

As the only players to have at least 30 points, 15 assists, and 10 rebounds in a postseason game, the All-Star guard joined Oscar Robertson and Nikola Jokic. Over 14 playoff games this season, Haliburton has shot 46.7 percent from the field and 80 percent from the arc, averaging 19.4 points and 9.8 assists.

By the looks of it, there is no stopping the Pacers’ star with the way he is performing right now. The Knicks will have to be at their best, defensively, to grind out a result against Haliburton and Co. Only time will tell who comes out on top in this all-or-nothing clash.

Tyrese Haliburton achieves ANOTHER historic feat in his NBA playoffs career

A few days back, the Pacers’ star man, Tyrese Haliburton, was voted as the most ‘overrated’ player by the NBA players during The Athletic’s poll. Now, the Pacers star has made everyone eat up their own words with his performances and historic records. Notably, he added one more during Game 4 of the playoffs involving NBA legend Magic Johnson.

In addition, he has recorded the most triple-doubles of any player in the playoffs with three in this postseason alone. Per StatMamba, he also became the fastest player since Magic Johnson to reach 500+ points, 150+ rebounds, and 250+ assists in a single postseason run, joining Johnson on an exclusive list.

Furthermore, Haliburton is refusing to believe the hype, even despite a historic stat line. The All-Star guard spoke to the media after leading the Pacers to a crucial victory over the Knicks and minimized the importance of his stats. Interestingly, Haliburton has given another thing to admire him: his humility.

Tyrese Haliburton makes a hilarious statement regarding his dad coming back from an 8-game suspension

Tyrese Haliburton had one of his best games of his career on Tuesday against the Knicks in Game 4 of the Playoffs. And maybe the fact that Haliburton’s father was back in an NBA stadium following his previous controversy gave him a little more drive. Following Game 4, Tyrese Haliburton discussed his father John’s return to the arena.

I know we were saying ‘Free Pops’, but Pops was not in jail. He happened to be in a very beautiful home, sitting very pretty, watching NBA basketball. He’s just fine. I was happy he was in the building, obviously.

Tyrese Haliburton told the reporters

One thing is sure: John Haliburton must be the happiest person on this globe as he got to see his son’s outstanding performance on such a significant Pacers night. Now, it will be interesting to watch what Haliburton does in Game 5 at the MSG in a few days.
