Tyrese Haliburton and his Indiana Pacers were in form and driven to win their 1st-ever NBA title. They wore their underdog hats with pride throughout the playoffs and were in prime position to beat the best team in the league in Game 7.

A few minutes in, all those thoughts went out the window after the star point guard was on the floor writhing in pain. He was already struggling with a strained right calf, but the way he went down indicated he was in tremendous pain.

After making his way to the medical room, it became apparent that it was an Achilles’ tear. He would not come back to the game, and the Pacers, emotionally drained by what happened to their leading player, as well as some questionable coaching decisions, succumbed to defeat.

They were emotional, knowing they had come very close to becoming champions. The Pacers guard did not want to end his season with a devastating injury and a heartbreaking loss. Knowing how hard it is for him, his girlfriend, Jade Jones, posted a heartfelt message on IG.

Every step of the way. A run we will remember for a lifetime. You are so amazing.

Jones understands that her boyfriend is heartbroken over how the past 48 hours transpired. Going from feeling confident to win, to then suffer an injury that could keep him out up to a year, and not being able to help his team win the biggest game of their lives, was extremely difficult to take in.

When all of this transpired, Caitlin Clark had just finished a game against the Las Vegas Aces. She, along with her Indiana Fever teammates, believed the Pacers would bring the Larry O’Brien Trophy to Indianapolis. Now that their fate has changed, Clark finally revealed what she felt.

Caitlin Clark was responding to a separate IG post Jade Jones published earlier, praising Tyrese Haliburton’s tremendous journey. Jones reiterated that this was the best season for them as a couple, and they still have things to accomplish.

Clark’s response was that of a true friend after she spent a lot of time with the couple over the past two years. She understands the heartbreak was not the way to end the season, but it was something to be proud of.

Tyrese Haliburton and his Indiana Pacers returned to Indianapolis late at night after losing the NBA Finals. Earlier today, the point guard underwent surgery to repair his torn Achilles tendon. After gaining consciousness, the 25-year-old posted a message on X.

Indy, I’m sorry. If any fan base doesn’t deserve this, it’s y’all. But together we are going to fight like hell to get back to this very spot, and get over this hurdle…. I’m grateful for all the love from the hoop world.

The star point guard regrets how his injury stopped their dream run. However, he also takes inspiration from others and vows to come back stronger than before. The superstar understands the work is not done, and he wants to have a go at it again.

He wants to win an NBA title for the Indianapolis faithful after they supported the Pacers all season long. Haliburton wanted to win it for them, but now, as he is set to undergo recovery for a lengthy period, that win will have to wait.
