With the free agencies rising right after the NBA Draft 2024, Paul George joined Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and the Philadelphia 76ers. Along with the skill and talent, the way George has developed his game might be a big addon to solve the playoff drought in Philadephia.

With an early exit from the playoffs in the 2024 NBA season, after losing against the New York Knicks, the team had to gain a player who could perform on both ends of the court. Standing at 6 feet 8 inches tall, and possessing the ability to shoot, take rebounds, get back nicely at the defensive end and block shots, Tyrese Maxey had nothing but praise for George. 

He is a guy that you can pick up and plug into any system because of his talent. He can shoot the ball, pass the ball, play on handoffs, play in transitions, you know the sky is the limit.

While Embiid and Maxey averaged nearly 16.9 points together last season, the addition of Paul George to the starting lineup might find better chances at competing better at the playoff level. According to Maxey, George can lead the second-unit teams as well as the starting lineup. Further, it is the responsibility of Philadelphia’s Head Coach Nick Nurse on how he uses the talent and skill of George.

Paul George played 74 games in the last season averaging- 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and shooting 43% from the three and Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey averaged 34.7 points and 11 rebounds and 20.3 points and 3.5 assists, respectively – these three players are the next big 3 in the East as per Gilbert Arenas.

According to Arenas on his recent podcast, when the Clippers signed Kawhi Leonard, they portrayed that they didn’t want to put George above Leonard which messed up his worth in the Clippers and might be the biggest reason why he left the team. But after signing the deal with the 76ers, George has potentially strengthened the all-round game of the team.
