Tyson Fury has been one of the top heavyweights in the world for quite a few years. He has had quite an illustrious career and has remained undefeated throughout it. Usually, every fighter has a particular motivation that drives them to excel in their career. However, when it comes to Fury, he seems to have a contradictory stance about the reason behind his fighting.
A lot of fighters enter the combat sports world to amass wealth or fame. In both cases, they have to be successful fighters who can either secure a huge payday or secure a huge fight with a title shot. Hence, a fighter either pursues wealth or tries to create a legacy in the sport through their achievements. As such, Fury recently spoke about whether he chases belts or money ahead of his undisputed fight:

During the recent press conference hosted by Queensberry Promotions, Fury stated that money is what motivates him. Furthermore, The Gypsy King asserted he has been very vocal about this throughout his career. Hence, he stands by his stance and wouldn’t lie to his fans about just chasing belts.
While Tyson Fury made his stance clear, it contradicted a statement he made himself earlier. Interestingly, Fury once stated that he came from nothing and was not motivated by money.
Fans react to Tyson Fury’s contradictory statements
Fury has also been known for his words and notable statements. However, this time it seems to have backfired on him because of his contradictory statements. Fans reacted to this contradiction by stating:
“Entertaining guy, good fighter but I’m just sick of the waffle now”
Fans were quick to point out the WBC heavyweight champion’s contradictory stance on money ahead of the Oleksandr Usyk fight. Furthermore, people stated that he talks too much, which caused this contradiction to arise. However, some fans noted that Fury has bipolar disorder, which could explain the contradictory statements.
