Ex-WBC lineal champ Tyson Fury gives animated reaction after Daniel Dubois starches fave Anthony Joshua on DAZN pay-per-view (PPV).

Tyson Fury bemoaned the $150 million he lost after seeing Anthony Joshua go down in the R5 to Daniel Dubois. This was last night at Wembley Stadium in London where Dubois came up with a rare faceplant KO. Joshua’s defeat scuppered plans to meet in a mega-million fight in Q1 2025.

The 34-year-old Joshua wobbled multiple times throughout the course of the DAZN Pay-per-view (PPV) boxing bout. The opponent dropped the British boxing star in rounds one, three, four, and five. Daniel ‘Dynamite’ Dubois hit the final shot at the 0:59 mark of the fifth frame; AJ was out for the count. Boxing’s other English funnyman Fury had quite a reaction. However, Boxing on TNT Sports caught a more animated one, with him saying:

That’s cost me $150 million, the silly cu*t...Of course it has, he’s fu*ked. Turki, you better pay me now!

The former WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO titleholder has always had the safety net of falling back to a “Battle of Britain” with Fury on a later date. However, Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs), under the didactics of one Frank Warren, will now move on to solely Oleksandr Usyk. The Ukrainian HW recently beat the WBC Lineal to become the first unified champ in the fractured 4-belt era.

Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, admitted that the Dubois rematch must happen next. There’s been talk of AJ triggering the clause they have in the contract for that to happen. Now, with his animated disposition, every Fury reaction will be taken with a grain of salt. However, with each having the avenue of a rematch, and with Joshua’s wackily defensive and stuttering showing, a rematch seems far off.

Is Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury dead in the water after AJ’s skid?

The biggest heavyweight super-fight could still happen, as Saudi GEA moneyman Turki Alalshikh has said he intends to make it happen. This is despite Saturday’s result of Anthony Joshua losing.

The HW division is certainly cluttered with Fury and Joshua facing Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois. A fight between them would still be huge. But not as huge as if they’d met years ago when both were unbeaten. Now Joshua’s loss is pushing Fury towards Dubois instead.

Battling the likes of Usyk or Dubois, the fast-paced shot selection punchers/counter of the industry, prodigy KO artists are at a loss. Joshua’s tight and heavy defensive struts prove that in all rounds except the third where he didn’t lean for a greater advantage.

As did Tyson Fury in the last few of his outings. He was even out of shape against the athletic Francis Ngannou, a debutant, during the Riyadh Season opening ceremony. Fury’s manager Spencer Brown, however, says there’s still a big push from Saudi GEA boxing to make it happen.

Maybe we see Tyson against Anthony Joshua, ...They’ve always said they’re going to fight each other and His Excellency also said that win, lose, or draw he wants them to fight each other.

The 34-year-old Joshua and trainer Ben Davison did not come up full in their plan against a more acute Dubois working in pockets. There might be some changes in camp in months to come. Fury, meanwhile is already shaping up for his undisputed HW showdown yet again to avoid his own faceplant, even this one.

The rightful HW king already voiced that he did not give a hoot about the IBF heavyweight title clash on DAZN pay-per-view (PPV) from London. It’s his trajectory he is more worried about. As such, both their attentions might splinter for a while; but it doesn’t mean they can’t and won’t fight.
