UEFA Champions League: Besiktas vs Dortmund Player Ratings as Bellingham and Haaland ensure a win for BVB

Borussia Dortmund’s in-form players Jude Bellingham and Erling Haaland scored in the 1st half to give a comfortable lead of 2-0. Besiktas looked threatening throughout the game and Montero scored a header in the final minutes of the game but it was insufficient to get Besiktas victory at their home
Here are the Player Ratings for the Champions League fixture between Besiktas and Borussia Dortmund.
Besiktas
Ersin Destanoglu (GK) (6/10): Destanoglu has looked impressive as a goalkeeper, he was able to cut down some of the crosses from Reus to Haaland. He also made some good saves to restrict Dortmund from scoring.
Fabrice N’Sakala (7/10): The penetration and chances driven forward from the defense were mainly done by N’Sakala. He made 31 passes out of which 19 were inside the box.
Francisco Montero (7/10): Central Defender Montero was initially finding it difficult to block a pacy attacking trio of Malen, Reus, and Haaland. But with the progression of the game, he was able to adapt and made some important interceptions and blocks. He scored a crucial header for Besiktas in the final minutes of the game
Welinton (7/10): At the center-back position, Welinton was very good. He made some good tackles to stop Bellingham and Reus build-up
Valentin Rosier (7/10): Rosier was smart in anticipating the runs of Thomas Meunier and also on a couple of occasions blocked Haaland from getting in scoring positions
Josef (7/10): During the counter-attack situations, Josef looked very good in terms of movement and created a goal-scoring chance. Defensively, he looked solid making interceptions and won crucial tackles
Cyle Larin (6/10): Larin played well in patches in his 60 minutes play on the pitch. He created a couple of chances for Batshuayi to score goals. But his overall passing was poor with 76% accuracy
Atiba Hutchinson (6/10): Hutchinson had an ordinary day with the ball. He was not able to provide the support expected from him to Pjanic and in the 2nd half he got a yellow card for a poor foul.
Miralem Pjanic (8/10): Pjanic was the best player in the midfield position for Besiktas. He was sharp on and off the ball, he made three key movements in the Dortmund box leading to close scoring chances.
Rachid Ghezzal (7/10): He had an excellent game with some very good passes to Pjanic and Hutchinson for goal scoring and also helped the team during counter-attacking situations with great interceptions.
Michy Batshuayi (5/10): It was a day to forget for Batshuayi. He had many easy chances to score goals but ended up messing it up. He had an amazing chance against Kobel to score but failed to score.
Substitutes:
Kenan Karaman (7/10): After coming in as a substitute Karaman tried to create penetrative chances in Dortmund defense but he found it difficult to get in the box
Salih Ucan (7/10): Ucan gave some real threat to Dortmund’s defense. He made some glorious runs in the box and also created some close opportunities for Pjanic and Batshuayi to score

Gregor Kobel (GK) (7/10): Kobel on his Champions League debut for Dortmund show excellent goalkeeping skills had an excellent clearance during the game and also his passing was spot on helping Salzburg to build up for more goal opportunities
Raphael Gurreiro (7/10): Gurreiro was very sharp on field as he made some important clearances. During the game, he had 90% passing accuracy and also during the attacking situations, he forwarded some great balls to Brandt and Malen
Manuel Akanji (7/10): Akanji was a great support to Hummels in defense line. He made two amazing clearances and had 96% passing accuracy.

Mats Hummels (7/10): He played well for his 70 minutes making two critical clearances during Besiktas counter attack
Thomas Meunier (7/10): From right back position, Meunier made some excellent runs during attacking build up for Dortmund and he provided the very important assist to Bellingham to help them take the lead early in the game
Julian Brandt (7/10): Brandt played a very pivotal role in Dortmund’s midfield performance. With the ball, he was accurate in getting Meunier and Haaland and created many quick attacking chances
Mahmoud Dahoud (7/10): Dahoud made some great chances for Reus, Haaland and Knauff to score but Dortmund failed to score. In defensive situations, he won two key tackles and made an important interception
Jude Bellingham (9/10): Bellingham was the player of the match for Dortmund. He scored the 1st goal and also provided the assist to Haaland to score. Even in Besiktas attacking situations, he showed amazing defensive skills to deny Besiktas from scoring goals
Marco Reus (7/10): Throughout the game, Reus was excellent with the ball but he was unable to penetrate the defense line. He had 86% passing accuracy with one close missed chance
Donyell Malen (7/10): In the entire game, Malen was impressive with his touches and his runs on and off the ball were amazing. He created two big chances and made some very good passes to score goals for Haaland and Bellingham.

Erling Haaland (8/10): Haaland continued his glorious form in this game. He made some effective runs and scored the goal for Dortmund just at the halftime

Alex Witsel (7/10): In the 2nd half, he came in as a substitute for Brandt but didn’t create many chances in the midfield

Marin Pongracic (7/10): Pongracic was a tactical move by Rose to keep the defensive shape intact. He delivered some effective passes and stopped some key scoring chances for Besiktas
