UEFA Champions League: Liverpool vs AC Milan Player Ratings as the Reds seal 3-2 win on the opening match week.
Liverpool kick-started the Champions League campaign with a 3-2 win over AC Milan at Anfield as they complete a comeback. Fikayo Tomori’s own goal broke the deadlock early in the game. Reds were dominating the game but Milan, in a crazy two-minute spell scored two goals through Rebic and Diaz. However, Salah scored an equalizer in the early minutes of the second half while Henderson restored their lead to register the win.

Alisson 6/10
Should have put the stronger hands in order to nullify the attempts of Rebic and Diaz. However, distribution was quite good and surged when needed to grab the ball.
Joel Matip 6.5/10
Had two very good chances to find the back of the net by himself. Partnered well with returning Joe Gomez and the distribution was good as well. However, he should be dropped deep in the box when Milan built up Rebic’s goal so as to deny the attempt.
Joe Gomez 6.5/10
Made his return after a long-term injury. Grew into the game quickly. However, he kept AC Milan forwards onside for both goals in the first half.
Trent Alexander Arnold 7/10
Was excellent going forward as usual. His surge from the right-hand side in the early minutes lead to a goal. Was constantly throwing crosses into the box and was possibly the best creator on the pitch.
Andrew Robertson 7/10
Defensively was good and surged forward often. He tried to clear the ball on the line but wasn’t enough and Brahim Diaz was going for it with full thrust.
Fabinho 7/10
Made a few good interceptions early in the game. Stabilized the midfield when needed. The Brazilian sent some deft forward passes which led to good goal-scoring chances.
Jordan Henderson 7/10
Tried to open the channels through his ball distribution. The very lively figure near the box in the second half. Scored from outside the box after a clearance from the corner with a right-footed fizzer which restored the Reds’ lead.
Naby Keita 6.5/10
he was a calm and composed figure for Liverpool in the midfield of the park. Covered the whole area in the center and combined well with Fabinho.
Mo Salah 7.5/10
Caused all sorts of problems for AC Milan from his right-wing. His penalty was saved but it didn’t stop him from keep going. Scored a well-taken goal to equalize the score.
Divock Origi 6.5/10
Made his first start if the season for the Reds. Tried to make things happen when he was on the ball. Provided a great lobbed delivery for Salah’s goal.
Diogo Jota 6.5/10
Dropped deep when needed to provide a cover in the back. Was overall very good on the ball and tried to create chances from the left flank.

Offered some fresh legs and pace when came on. Could have scored by himself when he got a good room in front in the box.

Good shouts for a man of the match. His string pair of hands denied plenty of goal scoring chances. Saved Salah’s penalty and then pulled out a second save immediately deny Henderson.

Made some good clearances to keep Milan in the game. However, had a difficult time dealing with Trent and Salah in the wing.

Scored their own goal as Trent Alexander Arnold’s shot was deflected off his feet. Made some good clearances but Liverpool attack got the better of him at times.

Made a few eye-catching clearances from set pieces and corners and was commanding at times. Found the back of the net but it was ruled out due to offside.

Tried to surge forward but Liverpool’s constant pressure from the left side didn’t allow him to do so.

Was left frustrated early in the game with some misunderstanding with the backline. Stood string in the middle of the park and tried to win some duels
