Udonis Haslem hilariously joked about the Lakers recruiting Jimmy Butler.

Jimmy Butler‘s upcoming offseason has created a lot of buzz about the star’s future with the Miami Heat. As the Philadelphia 76ers first showed interest in Butler, many other teams have now been rumored to attempt to recruit the Heat’s forward.

As the Los Angeles Lakers might be one of those teams, Jimmy Butler‘s former teammate Udonis Haslem tore down the team’s hopes. The former player hilariously made it clear that the purple and gold team has a better chance at recruiting rookie Bronny James than Butler during recent broadcast of ESPN’s Get Up.

They got a better chance at getting Bronny than do getting Jimmy. Let me just put that out there real quick. Hell to the no.

Haslem firmly stated that the team has to face the 43-year-old first before trying to get Butler. The rumors about Butler’s trade started when Pat Riley made some harsh comments about Butler. However, Udonis also clarified why that was not a new case in the Miami Heat organization.

Butler still has two years left in his contract. But despite all the rumors, Butler has previously shown interest in extending his contract and staying with the Heat.

Butler is not the only player the Sixers are interested in. The team is also rumored to be eyeing at the potential pairing of LeBron James and Joel Embiid as the Lakers star’s future with his team is uncertain. As James’ agent Rich Paul hinted that the player might exercise free agency.

While the panel at ESPN’s Get Up was discussing a potential Eastern Conference fit for James, Haslem gave his opinion. After expressing not wanting to trade Butler, the veteran hinted that his ex-teammate James should return to Miami. As Haslem was unable to say it out loud, he wrote the team’s name on a paper.

I was gonna write it. 'I wasn't gonna say it, I was going to write it for you.

Despite hinting at not signing Butler, the Heat has not shown serious interest in any other players so far. James, on the other hand, has also not made any known moves towards his former team. Only time will tell about the star’s landing spot for his final years.
