UEFA Champions League: Zenit vs Juventus player ratings as Juventus pick a hard earned 1-0 win

Juventus came out with a hard earned late win against Russian opponents Zenit Saint Petersburg. The Italian giants left it very late up until the 86th minute to find the winner as Kulusevski’s header broke Russian hearts. The victory meant that Massimilano Allegri’s side have now won three consecutive matches in the Champions League and currently top Group H. On the other hand, Zenit are currently third with 3 points from as many matches.

Stanislav Kritsyuk- 7/10- He was commanding inside his penalty box and made some crucial saves to keep his side in the match.

Dejan Lovren- 6.5/10- The former Liverpool defender, did well to deal with Morata and Chiesa winning most of the duels with the two. He did not give away cheap fouls.

Dmitriy Chistyakov- 6.5/10- A decent night at the heart of defense for the 27-year old. He wonthe aerial balls for his side and looked very assured when in possession.

Vyacheslav Karavaev- 6/10- He earned himself a booking for a poor challenge on Chiesa early on in the second half and was subbed off minutes later, when he seemed to lose his temper a bit.

Wilmar Barrios- 6/10- The defensive midfielder was too eager to win the ball for his side on occasions, and earned a booking for a rash challenge on Sandro in the first half.

Douglas Santos- 7/10- The midfielder looked threatening every time he broke forward and was also there to stop the attacks on his goal. He won 7 tackles and had a shot on goal.

Wendel- 6.5/10- He was played as a blocker alongside Barrios and did not have a great game. He failed to keep the midfielders in check and allowed them time often on the ball.

Artem Dzyuba- 6.5/10- The Russian striker did not have much service played on to him. He had a shot at goal from a corner in the first half.

Claudinho- 7/10- He caught the eye in attack with his direct football and created the maximum number of chances for his side. He could not find the goal, and was denied three times.

Malcom- 7/10- A strong display from the former Barcelona player, who showed his pace on the counter carrying the ball forward for the Russians. He suffered an injury and had to be taken off after 70 minutes.

Matthijs de Ligt- 7/10- De Ligt was as cool as ever in defence for Juventus and made some vital stops in the first half. He won 5 aerial duels, and finished the match with a impressive pass accuracy of 94 percent.

Leonardo Bonucci- 6.5/10- He did not have much to do defensively but helped his side out with his impressive cross field passes looking for Chiesa and Morata.

Alex Sandro- 6/10- Sandro did not offer much in terms of attacking threat and was evebtually subbed off at the hour mark.

Mattia De Sciglio- 7/10- He spent most of his time on the pitch, in the opposition half and linked up well with Bernardeschi. He provided the assist for Juventus’ winner.

Rodrigo Bentancur- 6.5/10- The midfielder put in the hard yards, as he covered a lot of ground during the match. He made 2 perfectly timed tackles and finished the match with a pass percentage of 95.

Weston McKennie- 6.5/10- McKennie was decent in midfield and picked out the passes well. He was also aware of his defensive role during the turn of possession.

Manuel Locatelli- 6.5/10- Locatelli has been a great signing, and proved his mettle yet again with some intricate passes and ran the show for the away side.

Álvaro Morata-6/10- Morata was good in attack, and won a number of fouls for his side, looking tk keep hold of the ball.

Federico Bernardeschi- 6.5/10- The Italian winger dropped deep to receive the ball throughout the match, as he looked to find the telling pass in the final third.

Federico Chiesa- 7/10- The youngster looked the brightest spot in attack for the Bianconeri, pouncing on any half chances to have a shot at goal.
