The co- main event of UFC 253 saw Dominick Reyes and Jan Blachowicz face off for the vacant Light Heavyweight Championship.

In the fight, Blachowicz pulled off the upset, rocking Reyes with his left hook. The Polish becomes the undisputed UFC Light Heavyweight Champion of the world!

Fight Analysis-

Round 1 starts off slow with the first strike coming with Blachowicz’s inside leg kick, followed by one by Reyes. A powerful body kick to the ribs makes Reyes swell up. Blachowicz seems to be more busy in the Octagon. Reyes had no answer to Blachowicz’s punch-kick combinations.

In round 2, Reyes took a more aggressive approach, landing leg kicks. This was followed by a right hand by Jan with a punch-kick combo to the face. Decent head movement by Blachowicz to prevent Reyes’ head kicks. The Polish looked more calm and composed in the ring in comparison to his opponent. In a sudden rise of pace, Blachowicz started to rush with some follow-up punches aiming for powerful hooks.

In the end, both opponents started swinging at each other. The signature left hook by Blachowicz connects and rocked Reyes, making him wobble to the ground and lose his balance. This was followed by a series of powerful punches by the Polish making referee Kevin Sataki call a stop to this contest.

Conclusion-

The Polish claims the throne via KO in the 2nd round. He, now becomes the second Polish to get a taste of the UFC belt.
