The main event of UFC 257 marked the return of Conor McGregor. He took on Dustin Poirier who was coming off a victory against Dan Hooker. Conor, on the other hand, was coming off a 40 second KO win over, Donald Cerrone, after which he momentarily retired.

Round 1 :

Both the fighters showed great energy. Fast hands from both men. Both the fighters exchanged a few blows. Dustin then executed a successful takedown. Conor got back up after a while and threw his trademark shoulder strikes. A lot of time was spent on the fence. Conor then landed a knee to the body of Dustin. And another. Then both exchanged shoulder strikes. A foot stomp, then from Conor. Conor landed a huge left after they broke free. Then he shot a powerful combo at Dustin. Then Dustin came up with his own check hook. A spinning hook kick from Conor almost connected. 10-9 Conor

Round 2 :

Dustin rocked Conor with a low calf kick in the beginning. Then Conor rocked Poirier with an uppercut. Conor kept Dustin in check. But, Dustin was up for it with his low calf kicks. Conor kept him at bay, with his fast hands. But, out of nowhere Dustin threw a flurry of big left and right hands, before going on to unleash bombs, knocking out Conor. Stuff of dreams! No one saw that coming.
