The UFC 257, took place this past Saturday on the Fight Island, Abu Dhabi. It hosted an enthralling pack of fights that night but as usual and all eyes were on the Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier fight. The UFC 257 reportedly sold 1.6 million pay-per-view buys worldwide. In the post-match conference, UFC president, Dana White said that the UFC 257 would go down as one of the top fights in terms of pay per view in the company’s history.

According to a report from the Sports Business Journal, the fight of Dustin and Conor McGregor sold 1.2 million views in the United States of America. It also sold an additional 400,000 buys outside the USA. This makes the UFC 257 a top three fight of all time. The fight that holds the number one spot in the pay-per-view buys is UFC 229, which featured Khabib Nurmagomedov and The Notorious Irishman. UFC 229 sold over 2.4 million buys worldwide followed by the Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor rematch which sold over 1.6 million buys too.

There is no doubt that Conor McGregor is the most-watched player as he features in the UFC’s top 5 views of all time. Only goes to show how valuable the Irishman is to the business of the company.

ESPN apologize for technical issues on pay-per-view service

Amidst all the skyrocketing numbers in pay-per-views, ESPN had to come out and apologize for the inconvenience they caused to several consumers preventing them from accessing the fight after paying. But luckily in favor of the viewers, the Conor McGregor fight fell in the main event and most of them had an uninterrupted screening of that fight which again above all only goes to show the drawing power that man wields.
