UFC 260: Miranda Maverick defeats Gillian Robertson via unanimous decision

The women’s flyweight contest between Miranda Maverick (8-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) and Gillian Robertson (9-5 MMA, 6-3 UFC) went down at UFC 260, and Miranda Maverick won the fight via unanimous decision.

Round 1: Maverick looks fast and sharp and she in landing her jab, Gillian is trying to find the boxing range but couldn’t find it. Gillian is using nice kicks to body as well as legs. Maverick recollects and again lands some nice combinations, she secures a trip but couldn’t hold the position, and she secures another takedown as the round was ending.

Round 2: Maverick was trying to use the momentum from the last round but Gillian took her back and took the fight to the ground, she stays in the dominant position and tries to secure a submission. Maverick is moving well but not well enough to get back up, Gillian secures rear hook but loses control and fight got to the feet.

Round 3: Maverick pushes the pace and got Gillian back up against the cage, Maverick throws a barrage of strikes and forced the shot out of Gillian but her takedown attempt was stuffed. Maverick ended up on top and landed some ground impound but Gillian got up and secured a takedown of her own. As soon as they get up Maverick again puts some pressure and got Gillian against the fence and finished the round strong.

Result: Miranda Maverick def. Gillian Robertson via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)
