UFC 261 predictions: Valentina Shevchenko is a favorite to beat Jessica Andrade

UFC 261 predictions: Valentina Shevchenko is a favorite to beat Jessica Andrade

UFC’s women’s flyweight champion, Valentina Shevchenko is a beast and that is a known fact. The “Bullet” is scheduled to fight former strawweight champ, Jessica Andrade in the co-main event of UFC 261. Shevchenko is a clear favourite to win the bout.

The UFC 261 hosts three title fights and will take place in front of full-capacity audience. Though Valentina is going up against someone as prolific as Andrade, the best favour her 3-1. The oddsmakers at Sportsbetting.ag listed Shevchenko as a -360 favourite.

Valentina is coming off a 6 match consecutive winning streak. Her last defeat was against the current two-division champ, Amanda Nunes. In her last bout, Shevchenko beat Jennifer Maia via unanimous decision.

Meanwhile her opponent, Jessica is coming off a knockout win against Katlyn Chookagian. She fought last in October of 2020. The fighter has a record of 21-8-0 in her professional career. She also was a former flyweight champion.

Shevchenko’s odds drop massively from her previous bout

Though Shevchenko seems to have the edge over Andrade, Jessica has narrowed down the odds massively. In her previous bout, Valentina had favourite of a huge -1500. In this fight, Andrade is a +295 underdog.

What this means in layman’s terms is that if you bet $360 on Shevchenko you’d win $100, while a bet of $100 on Andrade would pay out $295. Despite the odds, Andrade would hope to beat the current flyweight champion and take the belt home.
