‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor will be entering inside the Octagon for the third time against ‘The Diamond’ Dustin Poirier at the main event of UFC 264. McGregor will be facing Poirier within just six months since he knocked him down at UFC 257.
The hype for this trilogy fight is very high amongst the fight fans and fighters around the world. The former UFC Lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov also gave his prediction for McGregor vs Poirier III.
Nurmagomedov holds victories over both Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier and he believes ‘The Notorious’ will be having a very little window in this fight to beat Poirier. If McGregor losses that window it is going to be almost impossible for him to win this fight.
In his latest interview with UFC Russia, Khabib says, “It’s the same thing as the previous fight, if it’s the first round for a finish, I’d back Conor. From the second and further, then Dustin wins.” {H/T Mirror uk}
Khabib Nurmagomedov believes Lightweight division is the most stacked in UFC
The undefeated UFC lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov announced his retirement following his win against Justin Gaethje at UFC 254. Now, Charles Oliveira is holding the championship that once used to wrap around Khabib’s waist.
Even after his retirement Khabib believes, Lightweight division is the most stacked division in UFC. He added, “There are many fighters at the top of the rankings who haven’t won anything for a long time now.”
“If Islam wins in July he will have eight wins in a row and he will keep moving forward. There is such a nice composition to the division; not only the Russians but also the Brazilians. For instance, take a look at Oliveira or Rafael Dos Anjos.” {H/T Mirror uk}
‘The Eagle’ added, “The Americans are also well-represented in the division; Poirier, Justin Gaethje and Chandler. So it is going to be fun; like the World War… the Russians, the Americans, and the Brazilians.”
“This division has always been interesting and difficult so it will be fun by the end of this year.”
