The UFC Lightweight champion Jan Blachowicz is going to defend his title against the number one ranked Light Heavyweight fighter, Glover Teixeira in the main event of UFC 267. Blachowicz is back on Fight Island, the place where he defeated Dominick Reyes and won the UFC Light Heavyweight championship.
Jan Blachowicz isn’t alone this time, he brought his family with him to the fight island for his fight at UFC 267, and talking about his son in his latest interview with BT Sports, Blachowicz says, “It’s amazing you know, he is my biggest motivation, so I’ve got my biggest motivation with me here and it’s great. But I don’t spend much time with him because I’ve to be focused on the fight and recovery, that’s why we got different rooms.”
“He’s smart and he wakes up at night, crying and stuff like this and I need to rest and recover. But anyway I’m happy because I don’t have to worry about what they are doing in Poland, they are here with me and I’m just happy that they are here with me.”
Jan Blachowicz is proud of his accomplishments inside UFC
Jan Blachowicz defeated the UFC Middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya at the main event of UFC 259. Adesanya was the betting favorite to win this fight but Blachowicz defeated him and created a major upset. This loss also came as the first loss of Israel Adesanya’s MMA career and Blachowicz is happy to get the respect he deserves after defeating Adesanya.
Talking about the same he added, “Now people Respect me, Fighter’s respect me, I’m a true champion, I’ve proved it not only to the world but also for myself and I’m happy because I’m getting a lot of messages on my social media that I’m an inspiration for them, not only for people but for fighters as well.”
“Because when you look into my story, I was close to getting cut from UFC and now I’m the champion. That’s why I believe never to surrender, never to stop believing in your dreams and you can be the champion like I did. You know when I beat Izzy that was just some proof that I’m a proud champion.”
