UFC 268 Prelims: Kamaru Usman vs Colby Covington 2 Preliminary Card Result

The main event of the UFC 268 fight card is going to be headlined by the UFC Welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman defending his title against the number one ranked UFC Welterweight fighter, Colby Covington. Along with this in the co-main event the UFC women’s strawweight champion, Rose Namajunas is going to defend her title in a rematch against Zhang Weili.

In addition to these great fights, the UFC 268 prelims card also features some of the prominent names in the promotion who are going to be in action such as Al Iaquinta, Bobby Green, Edmen Shahbazyan, Alex Pereira, and others. Here are the UFC 268 prelims result and round by round updates for all the fights.

UFC 268 Prelims: Alex Pereira vs Andreas Michailidis

Round 1: Michailidis started the striking with a leg kick and Pereira returns quickly. Michailidis tries to keep his distance and Pereira throws a combination, Michailidis shoots for a takedown and Pereira tries to catch his hand in a kimura. Michailidis climbs on his back and Pereira stayed still. The referee breaks the action due to inactivity and the crowd began booing as the round ends.

Round 2: Michailidis swiftly moves forward as the round starts and Holy Sh*t! Pereira lands a flying knee and Michailidis goes to the canvas. Pereira lands some follow-up shots and that’s it. He announced his arrival in UFC with style.

UFC 268 Prelims: Al Iaquinta vs Bobby Green

Round 1: Iaquinta started the fight with his power shots and Green avoided them. He lands a crips one-two combination and Iaquinta missed an overhand left. Green busts him up with a jab and Iaquinta returns the favor with a jab. Green drops him with a punch and Iaquinta is hurt bad, Green lands some follow-up shots and that’s it. He finished Al Iaquinta for the first time in his career via strikes.

UFC 268 Prelims: Phil Hawes vs Chris Curtis 

Round 1: Phil Hawes landed a barrage of strikes at the start of the round and he lands a straight punch right on the head of Chris Curtis. Hawes further lands a body kick followed by a straight right hand on his face. Curtis eats all these shots and stayed standing. Hawes lands one more combination and a right hand followed by a knee. Curtis lands a hard combination and he caught him with a left hand. Hawes wobbled and he lands a knee to the body. Curtis lands some follow-up shots and that’s it. He ends Hawes in the first round.

UFC 268 Prelims: Edmen Shahbazyan vs Nassourdine Imavov

Round 1: Imavov lands a right hand followed by a leg kick to start the striking. He moves forward and eats a counter from Shahbazyan. He pushes him back and holds him against the cage, Shahbazyan tries to secure a single leg and Imavov tries to keep his balance. Shahbazyan lifts his leg and secures a takedown, he tries to apply guillotine choke but Imavov doesn’t have control over it and he survives. They end the round in the ground.

Round 2: Imavov’s right eye showed some damage from the first round and he tries to land a combination but Shahbazyan answers with a swift one. Shahbazyan again caught him against the fence and tries for a single leg, Imavov grabs his neck for a standing guillotine. He somehow survives and Imavov again tries to apply guillotine and this time it’s deep Shahbazyan’s face turned red but he survives. Imavov lands a hard elbow and he lands some more strikes from the side crucifix. Shahbazyan tries to recover but that’s it the referee stops the fight.
