The final pay-per-view of the year 2021 just went down in the history books with some of the most unexpected results on the whole fight card. The biggest upset of the fight card is produced by the Brazilian MMA fighter, Julianna Pena, who defeated the former two-division UFC champion and number one pound for pound women fighter, Amanda Nunes, and took her women’s Bantamweight title.

Nunes is one of the most dominating fighters on the UFC roster and she holds victories over some of the biggest names in the promotion such as Ronda Rousey, Cris Cyborg, Holly Holm, Miesha Tate, and many others. This was the first time Amanda Nunes entered the Octagon to defend her women’s Bantamweight title since 2019.

‘The Lioness’ was the biggest betting favorite on the whole fight card with odds of -1100 in her favor and Julianna Pena was the biggest underdog on the whole card with betting odds of +650 in her favor. After having a tough first round, Pena defied all the odds in the second round and after throwing some heavy jabs on Nunes, she ended the fight with a rear-naked choke and produced one of the biggest upsets in MMA history.
