Mark Madsen gets a win at UFC 273
Vinc Pichel vs Mark Madsen is the opening fight for UFC 273 pay-per-view card. The two lightweights face each other on the main card in a three-round stunner.
UFC 273 takes place at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. The fight is packed with some big-name fights and is headlined by the featherweight title fight of Alexander Volkanovski vs The Korean Zombie. However, the fight between Vinc Pichel and Mark Madsen is not one to miss out on. The two stunning lightweights come face to face to fight it out in three or fewer rounds.
Vinc is a veteran of the sport with a professional record of 14-2-0 in his MMA career. He has been a part of the UFC since 2009. The fighter is currently on a three-fight winning streak and will also look to continue his good run. His opponent, Mark Madsen on the other hand is an elite wrestler who transitioned to MMA and is currently unbeaten.
Mark is currently undefeated in his professional career and has a record of 11-0. The 37-year-old fighter is coming off a win against veteran Clay Guida in 2021. Mark Madsen is too much to handle for Vinc Pichel at UFC 273
Round 1 Both the fighters take the center of the octagon. Pichel looking to put the pressure on his opponent. First blood is drawn by Madsen as he lands a kick to the leg. Pichel with a hook followed by a body kick. A knee to the body by Pichel. A takedown for Madsen with beautiful timing. Vinc works his way up. Both the fighters exchange shots and Madsen with a huge right hand.
Round 2 A solid low kick by Vinc. Amazing kick to the body by Pichel as Madsen counters with a right hand. Right hand on the top for Vinc followed by a kick to the body. Madsen takes the back of Vinc and looks to control. Vinc manages to take control and tries to work for a takedown but the two fighters are back on their feet. Amazing exchange by Vinc and manages a takedown on the Olympian.
Round 3 Both the fighters go back and forth and Vinc puts on the pressure with a flying knee. An amazing takedown for Mark Madsen looking to get on a mount. Both the fighters are on the ground and throw elbows to the body. Not much action here. Madsen looking to get a choke. The fans booing as there is little to no action in the octagon. Pichel finally backs up to his feet.
Results Mark Madsen def. Vinc Pichel via unanimous decision (30-27,30-27,29-28)
