“Oscar performance” – Fans troll Pedro Munhoz after he couldn’t continue to fight Sean O’Malley amid an unintentional eye poke

The fight between Sean O’Malley and Pedro Munhoz didn’t turn out the way the fighters and fans would have expected. The fight started out as both the fighters looked sharp and promised great action. However, in the second round an accidental eye poke happened as Munoz was left unclear or his vision.

The first fight at UFC 276 was stopped as soon as possible to check on the Brazilian’s condition. The cageside doctor announced that Munhoz has compromised his vision and the fight cannot be continued. The fight was declared a no contest in the third minute of the second round leaving fans with major disappointment.

After the official decisions were out, it was clear that Munhoz won the first round in the scorecard.

Fight fans reacted to the unexpected no contest between Sean O’Malley and Pedro Munhoz

As the fight ended in a very disappointing way, fight fans on the internet didn’t hold back to share their unbiased opinion on the matter.

One user explained that Munhoz was losing the fight so he decided to escape it by calling a DQ.

“@ufc He was losing the fight, best way to get out of it was calling for a DQ. Smart. “

Another user gave the same opinion about Munhoz opting the easy way out of the fight.

“Lol Pedro wanted a way out since the start, I bet he can see perfectly fine, the poke wasn’t even bad.”

A user sarcastically roasted Munhoz for acting and avoiding the fight by faking the eye poke.

Another user was sensible and explained that it’s wrong to judge athletes who claim eye poking inside the octagon.

“if we haven’t experienced an eye poke, we shouldn’t really say if someone faked it or not.”

Many users also supported Munhoz and claimed that O’Malley wasn’t winning the bout.
