The long-awaited fight between Sean O’Malley and Merab Dvalishvili took place at the Las Vegas Sphere. The Georgian made a light work of the Montana native at UFC 306. As such, he dethroned him from the bantamweight throne. However, there was an intriguing moment in the middle of the fight, where Dvalishvili trolled O’Malley. The fight fans who witnessed it gave out their reactions.
Merab Dvalishvili not only defeated Sean O’Malley, but he also dominated him. As such, over the span of the 25-minute fight, Dvalishvili controlled most of it. Even though O’Malley tried to fight back, it was tough as the Georgian stayed on top of him. During one of those grappling moments, Dvalishvili seemingly mocked O’Malley by kissing on his back.
‘Suga’ gave a fuming reaction to that and even retaliated. All this mockery and hatred against each other comes after a long-standing feud. For over a year now, until their fight day, both O’Malley and Dvalishvili had several verbal altercations. Most recently, the Montana native took a dig at the Georgian fighter’s overall appeal.
Amidst all that rivalry, Merab Dvalishvili came out on top when it mattered. There were some questionable moments in the fight. Nevertheless, the ‘Machine’ prevailed. As such, he will currently reign as the undisputed UFC bantamweight champion. Now, it remains what O’Malley opts for next.
