UFC is back in town this weekend, with a PPV card at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada (May 10). Belal Muhammad makes a maiden defense of his welterweight gold against UFC 315 PPV title challenger Jack Della Maddalena for championship payouts and fight purses.

It marks the promotion’s return to the City of Mary – its eighth visit overall and first since UFC 186 in April 2015 – as the fifth pay-per-view event on the UFC competition calendar. At the UFC 315 PPV co-main, Valentina Shevchenko tests the mettle of her WMMA 125-pound crown and second reign against Manon Fiorot.

All four fighters are expected to earn big bucks, PPV sales, and purses, denoting the stake of the game. While UFC and athletic commissions do not publish fighter salaries in detail anymore, here is a brief look at what the headlining fighters can earn. It is based on their previous banks, net, and career earnings.

Salary of Belal Muhammad at UFC 315

Welterweight king Belal Muhammad started his run against now-analyst Alan Jouban for a fight night base salary bracket of $15,000 ($68,500 all-in/with an early $50,000 performance add-on). He entered a modest $30,000 base UFC payout bracket against Geof Neal in just over a few bouts.

At UFC 242, Belal Muhammad would punctuate a win against one Takashi Sato for a stout $50,000 base, a sizable $50,000 win-bonus, and also a $50,000 performance bonus for a payout of $155,000 all-in. ‘Remember the Name’ earned a high $60,000 base for his memorable 2021 poke NC vs. Leon Edwards. It substantiated to a total purse of $70,000 all-in.

Muhammad earned $80,000 base bracket, $80,000 in win, and $11,000 in sponsorship bonus (a purse of $171,000 all-in) against Demian Maia (UFC 263). The Team Valle Flow Striking fighter would stretch his streak against standouts like Gilbert BurnsStephen ThompsonVicente Luque, and Sean Brady (Round-two TKO).

He got a $266,000 total payout ($100,000 base bracket/ $100,000 in win bonus and a $50,000 extra over Brady. Muhammad also made $500,000 in base and bonus for a total purse of $1,032,000 against Rocky at the July PPV main event at Co-op Live in Manchester. It would also be the first time he would make $32,000 in sponsorship bonus to enter as a challenger, per the Promotional Guidelines Compliance payout tiers.

At UFC 315, that stands at $42,000 in compliance payments. For his first PPV title defense this weekend, Muhammad can make bank between $800,000 and $1 million. He has also not had any PPV buyouts appeal to his name despite his fight IQ and defensive skills. That could all change after this welterweight showdown.

Salary of Jack Della Maddalena at UFC 315

UFC 315’s Jack Della Maddalena made a $48,000 base bracket/ $48,000 for the win and a $50,000 performance bonus ($162,000 all-in) at UFC 275. At UFC 284, the Team Scrappy MMA switch stance striker made a neat triplet of $50,000 base payout, a win purse of $50,000, and another $50k performance bonus, totalling $154,500.

Jack Della Maddalena, the challenger for the title this weekend, is expected to make a six-figure bank, likely in the range of $350,000 to $450,000. His previously reported payout for a third-round knockout of Burns is a significant increase. At UFC 299 in Miami, JDM went against Burns and made a $100,000 sum in base bracket/ $100,000 win-bonus/$50,000 performance bonus for a total purse of $254,500.

Those digits can increase even more for a great payday if he leaves with Muhammad’s belt after UFC 315. Per DraftKings Sportsbooks, though, welterweight champ Belal Muhammad propped up as a moderate -205 favorite on the money line to keep hold of his strap this Saturday.
