Yanez was born on November 29, 1993, in La Porte, Texas, U.S., and went into boxing at a very early age. His father was a Golden Gloves winner and it prompted him to pursue combat sports in life. He shifted to BJJ and later to MMA at the age of 15. He started his professional MMA career back in 2014 in a local MMA promotion in Texas.
He fought in various promotions such as Legacy FC, Fury FC, Bellator, LFA, etc Before coming to UFC. The fighter got his ticket to UFC after performing well in the Dana White Contender Series in 2020. Yanez’s debut fight was against Victor Rodriguez, which the fighter won via a spectacular KO finish. He got $50,000 in his first fight as the Performance of the Night bonus award. Since then the fighter has stacked up four consecutive wins and most of them were TKO finishes for which got bonus awards.
