Alexander Volkanovski bows down in respect to The Korean Zombie after beating him at UFC 273

UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski just showed the world why he is the best in the business. The fighter from Australia absolutely dominated UFC legend The Korean Zombie in the main event fight at UFC 273.

As much as Alexander Volkanovski wanted to prove to the world that he can beat the best in the business, the fighter also wanted to show the utmost respect to his rival, Chan Sung Jung at UFC 273. The fight took place at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida and it was a bitter-sweet moment for MMA fans to see Volkanovski win by beating a fan favorite.

Chan Sung Jung was no match for Volkanovski as he got dominated for three rounds and finished in the fourth via TKO. Zombie was saved by the referee Herb Dean who decided to call off the fight as he got knocked down at the beginning of the fourth round after almost getting knocked out in the third.

After all the victory celebrations, Volkanovski made sure to show his respect to his rival who is undoubtedly a future Hall-of-Famer. The lead-up to this fight has been very respectful. The two fighters maintained professionalism and wanted to prove their best inside the octagon.

Volkanovski made his third title defense against Chan Sung Jung and showed that he is levels above the title contenders in the featherweight division. Sung Jung was very emotional in the post-fight interview with Joe Rogan and explained how he sees his future in the sport of MMA.

Alexander also explained to Joe that he would have liked it if The Zombie hadn’t taken that beating and the fight had stopped earlier. Chan is currently 17-7-0 in his professional mixed martial arts career. He has fought for the title twice in the UFC and has failed to capitalize both times.

Nevertheless, he will always be a legend of the sport and will continue to be a fan favorite fighter. The Zombie received love all over social media for his career and had a lot of fans rooting for him to win despite the odds were not in his favor. What do you think of the main event at UFC 273?
