Seems like UFC Bantamweight Champion Aljamain Sterling is someone to have fun with, even with his own story. Sterling made headlines via his Twitter on a minor injury after his chronic neck injury was severe enough to keep off the fighting scenes as of now for at least 18 months counting off since his surgery on the same.

Sterling last fought a title shot against former UFC Bantamweight Champion Petr Yan at UFC 259, which he won in a rather unfortunate way when he was knocked out illegally via a knee from Yan when Sterling was grounded. Since then, Sterling had a surgery that was long-awaited, which he needed due to his neck injury produced out of his high school wrestling days. Sterling now has a titanium disc instead of one of his vertebrae on his back to support his neck.

Aljamain Sterling has been mocked by former Champ Petr Yan for not making a quick return and using his injury as an excuse to delay the much-awaited rematch. Therefore, Sterling makes sure that Yan and his haters have a taste of his humour, just for fun!

In the first tweet, Sterling showed his lip cut beneath the lower lip and said, “Stitches or nah? Very first roll of the night. Courtesy of… you guessed it! Another knee to the face! I really don’t knee’d this right now!” Followed by this, after few hours, Sterling comes out again, this time with the stitches, and says, “3 stitches. Good as new. Doc says back in 2023. What do you think of Sterling pulling out this joke? Do you think the “Funkmaster” will make his return next year? With Petr Yan becoming the interim champion of the bantamweight division, the rematch becomes much more necessary for Sterling as he now will enter in a title unification match. For the rules, there can only be one undisputed champion of the weight class, only time will tell who it is really.
