“How about we schedule ours?” Amanda Ribas calls out UFC strawweight Yan Xiaonan for her next fight
Amanda Ribas and Yan Xiaonan
UFC strawweight fighter Amanda Ribas does not wish to wait for the UFC to match her with another contender instead she calls out Yan Xiaonan on Twitter herself.
Yesterday, Amanda Ribas called out her fellow UFC strawweight contender Yan Xiaonan on Twitter to fight. Yan is now a top-5 ranked fighter in the weight division and a fight with her would surely be the biggest fight. But the top-ranked fighter is coming off a skid so it wouldn’t be too ambitious to call Yan out from Ribas’ perspective. As she called out Yan on Twitter, Ribas also made sure to tag the UFC President Dana White, other matchmakers, and MMA news reporters.
“Hey, Yan Xiaonan, how are you? I was thinking, almost all fighters in our weight division have a scheduled fight. How about we schedule ours too? I think it would be a great fight,” wrote Amanda Ribas on her Twitter. There is still no signs of Xiaonan’s response to this call out.
Would Yan Xiaonan be a good matchup for Amanda Ribas?
Amanda Ribas coming into the UFC has a great record. Though, she is coming off a loss against Marina Rodriguez at UFC 257 via knockout in the second round. Previous to that fight, she had wins over Paige VanZant, Randa Markos, Mackenzie Dern, and Emily Whitmire. The strawweight fighter has a record of 10-2-0 in her career. If not for Marina she would’ve extended her four-consecutive winning streak. The fighter is only 27-years-old.
Meanwhile, Yan was on a 5 fight consecutive winning streak up until her latest skid against Carla Esparza. She has only 2 defeats in her MMA career and is looking to get back on the winning charts. She lost to Carla via KO/TKO in the second round. The Chinese strawweight has wins over top shouts like Claudia Gadelha, Angela Hill, and Viviane Pereira. She has a record of 13-2-0.
