“Another hard and painful defeat”- Thiago Santos reflects at his UFC Vegas 50 loss at the hands of Magomed Ankalaev

Subsequent to his loss at the UFC Vegas 50 Thiago Santos took to social media to reflect on his set back while accepting that he came up short.
The veteran fighter lost to Magomed Ankalaev via a unanimous decison in the Saturday’s light heavyweight headliner. This comes to a tally of four losses out of Thiago’s last five fights, leaving the future to seem pretty bleak for him.
In a heartfelt post the Santos tweeted, “No words about yesterday, no excuses, another hard and painful defeat. Still, my faith in God remains unshakable and my gratitude to him, my family, my friends, coaches and true fans only increases, thank you for everything.”
Thiago Santos despite not being the public favorite in this match, was a tough contender for Magomed Ankalaev. The Brazilian despite landing a knockdown , in the third round, against his opponent lost when into came down to the Judge’s cards with a score of 49-46, 49—46, and 48-47.
Downtrodden Thiago Santos to ever see glory?
The UFC Vegas 50 main event was a way for him to overturn his luck and prove to all that he is definitely a worthy contender for the light heavyweight title. But all of his plans seemed to come crashing down as Thiago failed to retain the form he had when he almost won against, Light Heavyweight Champ, Jon Jones via split decision. Santos failed to overcome the injuries sustained by him in this match and thus had to start from almost rock bottom.
The Veteran has fought around 32 professional and despite being past prime time, “The Marretta” has some prospective fights lined up probably one against Dominick “The Devastator” Reyes. Thiago Santos could stand a shot at the Title once more but that is only if he wins two or three fights continuously.
