We have an exciting middleweight matchup at our hands with Joaquin Buckley vs Albert Duraev. This is one of the most exciting matchups on the UFC Austin fight card.
UFC Fight Night: Kattar vs Emmett goes to Austin, Texas. Unlike the usual Fight Night events that take place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada since the pandemic, UFC boss Dana White has decided to push for events outside of Las Vegas and also out of the US. In the main card, Joaquin Buckley takes on his former teammate Albert Duraev in a 3-round matchup.
A fight with Joaquin Buckley is always an exciting win and is never dull. The fighter has his name in the record book for one of the greatest knockouts of all time. In his last four wins, three of them have come via deadly knockouts. Joaquin is full of power and is looking to finish his former teammate in front of the packed crowd. Joaquin Buckley destroyed Albert Duraev at UFC Austin
Round 1: Buckley draws first blood with a kick to the body. Joaquin looks for the right hook but Duraev is swift to move away from it. Huge headkick from Buckley that lands straight to Duraev’s dome. Somehow Buckley’s kick does not put the fight to end. Buckley slips as he looks to land another head kick. Duraev now lands a huge head kick. Joaquin is now bleeding from near his right eye. Both the middleweights exchange kicks to the head but none lands. Buckley lands a quick straight hand that hurts Duraev. Amazing left-hand gets through for Buckley.
Round 2: Buckley looks very sharp as he holds high guard and continues landing his body kicks. Albert looks for the takedown and manages to put Buckley on his back. Joaquin finally pushes back up to his feet to defend the takedown. Duraev’s eye is swollen really bad. Joaquin lands a huge left hand with all his power and Albert is dropped to the floor. Joaquin does not hurry and allows Albert to stand back up. Albert clinches Buckley and gets him on the floor. Joaquin once again back to his feet and looks for an ambitious knockout. Buckley shows his right hand and swings one with his left which immediately drops Duraev. The bell saves Albert once again.
Albert Duraev is not allowed to continue as the doctor comes to check his eye. Buckley is awarded the victory after his scintillating performance. This is the second win for Buckley in the year 2022. Great year for the middleweight.
