“I have thick skin”- Ben Askren and Jorge Masvidal go back and forth following claims of hypocrisy on Gamebred’s side

Things have started to heat up between old rivals Jorge Masvidal and Ben Askren. Ben has been tweeting his thoughts about their fight and Jorge’s assault charges. Masvidal has been hot water recently. He is rumored to have attacked Colby Covington outside a Miami hot spot as Covington finished dinner.
Jorge has been vocal about how he’d fight Covington if they met out in the street and it looks like he’s taken it one step further by ambushing Covington. Masvidal constantly cites the comments made about his family to be over the line and forgivable. Those comments undoubtedly played a role in Masvidal’s outburst.
Ben Askren took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the matter. Clearly, Askren thinks that Masvidal’s actions were unnecessary especially since he spent 25 minutes in the octagon with Covington to do whatever he wanted. Askren also called Masvidal a hypocrite as the latter talked about Askren’s family during their fight.
“The couple times I got beat up I just thought shit that sucked I should trained harder or employed better tactics. Not let me sneak up and attack him on the street bc I have anger/insecurity issues.”- Ben Askren
Masvidal chose not to respond to most of Askren’s tweets but did reply to the hypocrisy bit. Masvidal kept it short merely retweeting a post that explained that the comments he made weren’t aimed at Askren’s family.
Askren doesn’t seem to understand the point of Masvidal retweeting that at him. It’s unnecessary since Askren has thick skin.
Ben Askren was pissed off by Jorge Masvidal’s flying knee tattoo
After Askren’s humiliating 5 second demolition by Jorge Masvidal by a flying knee, no one will ever not associate the two fighters together. To make matters worse for Ben, Masvidal has even gotten a tattoo to commemorate one of the best moments in his entire career.
Ben expresses his thoughts on how juvenile it was to even get the tattoo in the first place. He tells on The MMA Hour, “Oh God, it just looks like crap. That’s something like a teenager gets and you’re like, ‘Oh s***, I thought that was going to look a lot better, I thought this was going to be really badass but it looks kind of dopey.’ He’s rich. He can go to the best tattoo artist in the place.”
He even goes on to empathize with Masvidal, as he understands how important that win was for the latter to have tatted it on him.
