There was a time when BJ Penn used to rule in the UFC’s welterweight division and lightweight division. Winning and losing were part of Penn’s career, showcasing that mistakes are possible for any fighter. But it was not about his win-loss career; BJ was also the two-division champion, which he claimed was easy for him. A complete mixed martial artist who was trying to find a win since 2011 ended up his career with seven consecutive losses.
The rivalry between BJ Penn and Jon Fitch is part of many debates in the MMA community. But there was one more controversial match-up that didn’t take place in the octagon. Carlos Condit against BJ Penn: this controversial match setup has shown the management skills of Dana White for the first time.
Georges St-Pierre and Nick Diaz bout was about to feature the main event of UFC 137. But GSP’s injury forced him to pull out of the bout and get Penn as a replacement. Penn lost the bout by unanimous decision to Nick, who also eliminated him from being the next welterweight title contender. But Fitch, who was looking to find the result of the drawn match against BJ, later found himself in fail drug test.
Penn went on Twitter and said, “Beer and hotdogs, coward,” to Jon Fitch. From this, Penn wanted to refer to the fact that this is his diet, which he follows to win the fight. He even accepted this fact after one year of his retirement when he replied to a fan tweet with “You know the rules.”
BJ Penn reflects on his career with Joe Rogan

BJ Penn always remembered what he did in his prime. He was considered one of those fighters who knew BJJ grappling and also had knockout skills. During his prime, Penn was one of the most ferocious fighters to hold two division belts once in his career.
When he was once on JRE show with Joe Rogan he said, “It has nothing to do with who’s the best it’s who wants it the most that’s what it is and that’s what I thought about.” Penn continued,“I mean I kind of knew that about martial arts…. I mean you go in there and you be right as quick and as violent as and and as intimidating as possible when you get in there but believe me I believe just like me even at my best I’m like what can I get what can I do to make the referee stop this.”
In one of Joe Rogan‘s podcasts, he graded BJ Penn to be on the GOAT race list. Rogan was one of BJ’s biggest fans during his prime MMA career.
