While no one can dispute the accomplishments of the great B.J. Penn’s legacy in the history of mixed martial arts, it seems like he is going to make another remarkable story for himself, this time leaving the documentation to the political historians. The UFC Hall of Famer of class 2015 is in considerations to make an entrance into the world of politics via standing for elections of a governor in Hawaii.
Jay Dee “B.J.” Penn, a citizen of Kailua, Hawaii, United States, posted an Instagram video where he is seriously concerned for the freedom of the citizens of Hawaii and how things are going to collapse in democracy if no one steps in to fight the system. For those who followed MMA after 2015, B.J. Penn is by many considered the greatest lightweight of all time before Khabib Nurmagomedov and is the second man in UFC history (after Randy Couture) to win championships at two different weight classes.

A fighter in the lightweight to have excelled in all areas of MMA, unreal reflexes, impeccable boxing and the most fluid grappling flexibility in his time.

Penn posted a video on Instagram, in a meme format with the template made out of the movie “300”, which gave out a message from Penn that the politicians in Hawaii aren’t actually good decision-makers and should be doing something else instead for they’re curbing the freedom of Hawaii. The video ended with this written as the subtitle: “Governor Penn, November 2022”
The caption reads, “I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my life but I would never run from a fight or sell out my people. As soon as I step into Hawaii’s Governor office I will remove All new federal and state mandates that have been hurting our economy, residents, and ‘ohana. We will get the best doctors, medicines, therapies, and health care the world has to offer to fight this pandemic and always keep Hawaii among the safest and healthiest states in the union. We will get rid of all vaccine passports.”
This is where Penn makes the Covid remark more clear. “Hawaii will be vaccinated with Aloha and Unvaccinated with Aloha policy for everyone. Same with the masks ?. We will follow the constitution to the tee ?. This made Penn clear his Covid 19 stance as well. What holds for “The Prodigy” is in future, one can only wish that the mental strength one endures to reach the top transfers in Penn’s new chapter of politics and hence, a martial artist brings the discipline with stronghold but patience and grace, as one learns living like a fighter.
