UFC books Dominick Reyes vs Jan Blachowicz for vacant UFC Light Heavyweight championship

Soon after Jon Jones vacated the lights heavyweight belt, UFC has booked Dominick Reyes and Jan Blachowicz for the vacant championship fight. The will take place at UFC 253 on September 26.

The fight has been added to the same event featuring Paulo Costa and Israel Adesanya. It will be the second fight of the night.

Both the fighters will give out their best to claim the championship and dominate the division.

Why only Dominick Reyes vs Jan Blachowicz ?

Blachowicz is at the 3rd rank in the UFC Light Heavyweight division and Jon Jones has earlier said that he would like to defend his title against him. Besides that, he has won seven out of his last eighth fights since October 2017.

On the other hand, Dominick Reyes also has a lot of potential and a good moment.right now. It will be his second consecutive championship match. Although he lost to Jones at UFC 247 but many considered the fight a daylight robbery.

UFC President Dana White has said that he scored the bout in favour of Reyes. Additionally many also believed this point of view.

Besides that, there were several calls demanding an instant rematch for ‘The Devastator’. Now that he has got his opportunity, he will look to back up his remarkable showing.

But there is one fighter who will be upset with this announcement-Thiago Santos. He suffered multiple injuries en route, convincing a judge that he had beaten Jones on the scorecards last year. He is currently ranked second and will likely work to fighting the new light heavyweight king after UFC 253.
