The UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira is currently enjoying the championship status, and he is looking to compete real soon. Dustin Poirier is the next possible challenger for him, but it looks like he will defend his belt in December.

“Do Bronx” won the belt after defeating Michael Chandler at the main event of UFC 262, and he is looking to defend it ever since. Oliveira recently appeared in an interview with the Super Lutas, and he claimed that he doesn’t mind who the challenger is, he will fight in December.

Charles Oliveira said, “I’m still waiting for my next fight, which should happen in December. A lot of people talk about Poirier, but he seems to be interested in other stuff. I’ve been training and waiting for the promotion to tell me anything. Whoever may come, the title stays in Brazil.”

Oliveira earned every bit of that championship belt, he went through a long road to get here, and he stated that he would take the title fight over the “money fight,” any day.

“Today nobody wants to know about a belt,” Oliveira told. “They want to know about ‘money’, about money in your pocket. The fight against Conor made a lot of money for Dustin Poirier, a fight against Nate will make a lot of money too. We are human beings. It depends a lot on each person. I would rather fight for the belt than for the money. I had a focus. I wanted to be UFC champion. Today I’m UFC champion, I want to make money, I want to have money in my pocket.”
