Former training partners turned rivals, Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal were trying to take each others’ heads off for a long time. They finally got a chance to settle their beef at the main event of UFC 272, and after five rounds of intense battle, Covington dominated Masvidal with superior wrestling and got the unanimous decision victory.

Jorge blamed his sloppy wrestling for his loss, and many blasted him for making excuses. Stephen A. Smith went after him saying, “I saw Masvidal and he was gutsy and survived the five rounds, waving Covington on, ‘come on, let’s get some more.’ He was literally using two security personnel to lean on because that’s how exhausted he was,”

He added, “The guy [Covington] is in phenomenal shape, he’s an outstanding wrestler, and Masvidal admitted that his wrestling was flat. How is it this flat coming into it knowing this guy as well as you know him, and knowing what he was trying to do to you and How much you supposedly hate him. How were you not ready for a wrestling match?”

These two genuinely hate each other, and their rivalry was far from over. Covington got the bragging rights and he was trolling Masvidal on daily basis with his Instagram posts. Masvidal claimed that their rivalry was still on sight, and he’d drop Covington if he sees him anywhere in Miami.

MMA reporter, Andy Slater recently reported that Masvidal and Covington came across each other in a restaurant at Miami, and they got into an ugly altercation, he wrote, “UFC stars Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal got into a fight moments ago at Papi Steak restaurant in Miami Beach. Police have been called.”

A video of the aftermath was also posted by TMZ, and we can see Covington standing outside the restaurant surrounded by cops.

Masvidal also posted a video saying he backed up everything he said, and Covington was supposed to do the same.
