UFC Columbus takes place at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. The fight night is headlined by a stunning heavyweight bout between Curtis Blaydes and Chris Daukaus. The two fighters are ranked and are two of the best in the division. Curtis is ranked#4 and Daukaus is ranked #9. A win for Daukaus on Fight Night could see him barge into the top five of the heavyweight division.

Blaydes is a veteran of the sport and has a record of 15-3-0 in his professional MMA career. The fighter is coming off a hard-fought decision victory against Jairzinho Rozenstruik at UFC 266. In his last four fights, Blaydes is 3-1, losing only to Derrick Lewis via a devastating knockout. Blaydes will look to stay on the win column and make a claim to the title shot.

Chris Daukaus on the other hand had an amazing start to his UFC career as he stacked four consecutive wins before he met Derrick Lewis at UFC Vegas 45. Daukaus is coming off his loss against Lewis and will try his best to overcome that first-round knockout defeat at UFC Fight Night 205.

Round 1 The main event begins and the two fighters touch gloves in the center of the octagon. Blaydes draws first blood as he lets his jabs fly. Daukaus looks really sharp in his counters. Both the fighters land right hands but Daukaus seems to have felt it more. Chris already bleeding over his left eye. Accidental eye poke from Curtis and the fight pauses just seconds before round 1 comes to an end!

Round 2 A sign of sportsmanship once again as the two fighters touch gloves to begin round 2. Blaydes with a nice feint followed by a punch. Daukaus going for the finisher but Blaydes’ counter is quicker which lands first. Chris is down on the canvas and Curtis makes absolutely no mistake in finishing the fight with heavy ground and pound. Herb Dean is quick to pull the #4 ranked heavyweight. WHAT A WIN!
