“I’m owed commission,” Conor McGregor demands royalty from the Manny Pacquiao fight against Yordenis Ugas
Conor McGregor wants commission from Manny Pacquiao fight
Conor McGregor might not have had the pleasure of fighting boxing legend Manny Pacquiao but he sure does think he is owed money off the Filipino boxer’s latest fight.
Manny Pacquiao took on Cuban champ Yordenis Ugas in the T-Mobile Arena. Pacquiao returned to the bright lights after two whole years and faced a defeat against Ugas via unanimous decision. Prior to fighting Ugas, Manny was linked with former UFC two-division champion Conor McGregor for a cross-promotional boxing match. Conor has already fought against Floyd Mayweather and made millions of dollars off that fight. Though Conor’s and Manny’s team couldn’t come to an agreement for the super fight, McGregor believes he is owed commission of the Pacquiao vs Ugas fight.
“I’m owed commission off that manny fight and I want it,” wrote Conor on Twitter after the boxing match got over. Conor’s manager Audie Attar also claims to be the representative of Pacquiao as a part of Paradigm Sports. There has been a dispute between Attar and the Filipino which has also led to a lawsuit filed against the legendary boxer prior to his latest fight.
Manny Pacquiao’s coach says Conor McGregor doesn’t deserve the fight
While Conor and Pacquiao are still having a war of words, the Filipino boxer’s coach believes that the Irishman does not deserve to fight a champion like Manny. His defense is that Conor has not won a fight in many years and has been stacking loss on loss. Pacquiao’s coach Justin Fortune believes Manny would beat Conor in a boxing ring just like how Conor would beat up Manny inside an octagon.
“It would have gone two rounds against McGregor – one round to warm up and one round to finish the guy, or we could have warmed up properly in the changing rooms and it would have gone one round. McGregor is not a boxer. It’s not his sport. Manny’s not an MMA guy, it’s not his sport,” said the strength and conditioning coach.
