Conor McGregor returns to sparring for the first time following gruesome injury

Conor McGregor

Conor McGregor is undoubtedly the biggest star in the UFC organization. All the highest-selling pay-per-view events have featured him in the main event. Lately, he has been inactive due to the nasty leg break he suffered from a fight with lightweight contender Dustin Poirier. Conor is now on a two-fight losing streak in the organization. Losing both the times to Dustin Poirier.

Recently an Instagram post is doing rounds on social media. Conor can be seen hitting the pads. Who will Conor face in his next bout remains to be seen? But Conor made it pretty clear that he is aiming for a welterweight return, ”3 weights. 3 ko’s. Moving up.”

He was signaling to a title fight with Kamaru Usman at 175 lbs. If that fight happens Kamaru will be the odds on favorite to win the fight but Conor has defied the odds several times in the past. It remains to be seen what happens in the future.

Belal Muhammad is one of the top welterweight contenders in the UFC. He takes on Vincent Luque in the upcoming UFC fight night in the main event. He had some harsh words to say about Conor in his recent interview with Kevin Iole of Yahoo, he said, ”Shut up dude, nobody cares about you anymore.”

Muhammad’s words come after Conor recently teased a move up to welterweight title contention. His frustration is justified as seeing McGregor on the sidelines for more than a year and directly jumping to fight Kamaru Usman to fight for the title after losing a couple of lightweight bouts against Dustin Poirier.

Belal takes on Vincent this Saturday in their rematch. Speaking about his first bout with Vincent which he lost by a TKO he said  ” I think I just got caught. It is 4-ounce gloves, it happens.” It remains to be seen what happens in their rematch only on UFC fight night.
