Dana White on Jorge Masvidal assaulting Colby Covington
Dana White reacts to Jorge assaulting Colby! Recently Jorge Masvidal ambushed his fierce rival Colby Covington outside the Papi Steak restaurant in Miami, Florida. Despite fighting his former best friend inside the octagon at UFC 272, Masvidal elevated their beef as he publicly attacked “Chaos”.
Masvidal had to face some pretty serious charges for the same, but he was fortunate enough to walk out of the situation without serving any jail time. Covington talked smack leading up to this fight, and he mentioned Masvidal’s family on a number of occasions, Masvidal said he’d smack him for the same, but Colby took the threat pretty light.
The MMA community had mixed reactions to this incident. Many thought Colby was in the wrong to drag Masvidal’s family in the first place, while others said he had 25 minutes to settle his beef, instigating an unprecedented attack on Colby was a di*k move, and Masvidal should be punished for the same.
UFC president, Dana White was asked to comment on the incident during his appearance on The Pat McAfee, and he said, “I say this all the time, first of all, in no way shape, or form do I ever condone violence in people, my guys fighting each other in the streets and s*** like that. But on the flip side, when you’re dealing with a guy like Jorge Masvidal and you start talking about his family. Listen, say what you want to say about me, you hate me, you think I’m ugly, but when you start talking about people’s families it goes to a whole ‘another level.“

White claims Colby took the rivalry on a personal level, and when you’re dealing with a guy like Masvidal you have to be careful of your surroundings. He added, “You talk about people’s families and you’re walking out of a restaurant and you better be ready for a guy like Masvidal to run up on you. Is anybody shocked that he talked s*** about his kids and his wife and you think that he’s not gonna do that? Of course he’s gonna do that.”
“You’ve got to understand these guys were actually friends and training partners so they know intimate details about each other, about each other’s lives, about each other’s families, and there’s something that’s called f****** man code,” White said. “A lot of these young, goofy f******* dudes these days don’t know about it, but they need to learn about it.”
