White recently appeared on ‘ The Pivot Podcast‘ on YouTube in which he discussed UFC, upcoming PPV events and the debate on UFC fighter’s pay.

While addressing the heated conversation about the UFC fighters’ pay, White revealed that no fighter is satisfied with their purse; they always want more. White claimed that in boxing the fighters are generally overpaid and it’s a huge problem. According to White, it’s very hard to build a league after paying such a humongous amount to the fighters. It will be extremely difficult to have 750 fighters under the contract with such big salaries. White also explained that at the end of the day they are running a business and with that mindset, it won’t help anybody.

Everybody wants more money. And one of the big problems with boxing too is that all those f* guys are overpaid, and every time they put on a fight, it’s a going-out-of-business sale. We’re just trying to get as much f* money as we can from you guys, and then we’re out of here. We’ll see you in three years. You can’t build a league like that. You can’t build a sport. You can’t have 750 fighters under contract, making money, feeding their families every year, with that kind of mentality. It doesn’t work. You have to run a business.” said White.

White has been the President of UFC for a long time now and has brought this company to the top. In recent years, the promotion has managed to gather enormous amounts of revenue. Even in the middle of Covid-19 UFC was able to make profits and was one of the leading sports industries to do so. But on the other hand, the fighters are still not getting enough and many are struggling as the risk on return is very low.
